We provide private pet training in the region of Vancouver, British Columbia. Our trainers are highly qualified, experienced, and enthusiastic. At Wag The Dog, we work hard to tailor our training program to your pet, your needs, and your budget, so we can bring you the most personal service possible.

We serve people in the following areas:
Anmore, Belcarra , Bowen Island, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Delta, Langley, Maple Ridge, New Westminster, North Vancouver, Pitt Meadows, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Richmond, Surrey, Vancouver, and West Vancouver.
We are also willing to travel to surrounding areas such as Aldergrove, Langley, and Delta for an additional charge.
What We Offer:
Private Training Sessions
We train your pet at your home, dog park, or anywhere else you want to go.
Animals are very specific learners, and skills learned in group classes often don’t transfer well to the home environment. If you want pets to behave well at home or on their usual walking routes, the best place to train them is at home and on their usual walking routes. That’s why we come to you. It also gives us the ability to tailor our training methods to work best for you and your pet – because every pet-person pair is unique!
Assistance At Home
If you or your child has a disability, we offer assistance-dog skill training so your family pet can help out at home. We do not train certified assistance dogs, and cannot provide public access for your family pet.
Walk And Train
We come to your home and train your dog while you are away at work!
Adventure Hikes
We pick up your dog and take him on a group off-leash hike which lasts at least two hours. Then we bring him home, socialized, exhausted, and happy!
Bark In The Park
Members of the Wag The Dog Club are included in our group meet-ups at the off-leash dog park.
What We Teach:
Behavior Modification
Are you having problems with a dog who chews up the house when you leave, who growls at other dogs, or suffers from severe anxiety? We can help find the root of your dog’s trouble and give you the tools to give him (and you) a new lease on life!
Beginner Obedience
We can cover the basics of walking nicely on leash and greeting people and dogs politely, as well as mastering coming when called, sitting, lying down, and staying until released from the command. You’ll know your dog has mastered basic obedience when he can:
- Walk nicely down the street without pulling on the leash
- Greet people politely, instead of jumping up
- Stop at street curbs, instead of dashing into the street
- Sit in front of a full food bowl as he waits for you to give the word before he can eat
- Lie still as you bounce balls past his nose and hop over him
- Come straight to you when you call him at a park filled with other dogs

Other Pet Training
At Wag The Dog, we know that any pet can learn! Cats are just as capable of learning to sit, come when called, or even turn on the television as your family dog. Rodents and birds have long shown their ability to learn a wide variety of clever tricks. Even fish can be trained to go through hoops and follow targets!
